With arguable some of the finest facilities on the West Coast already in place, San Diego State made a case for national recognition with the addition of the new softball/tennis facility on the west side of the San Diego State University campus. The buildings next to Tony Gwynn Stadium were razed and when the 2005 softball season rolled around, a brand-new lighted facility opened as the new home for SDSU softball.

The brand-new lighted facility, completed in early February of 2005, has played host to 29 regular season tournaments as well as the 2005 Mountain West Championships (MW tournaments stopped in 2006). The SDSU Softball Stadium boasts 300 permanent seats (150 stadium and 150 bench-back), numerous bleacher seats and a mounded landscape that lies behind a five-foot green outfield fence. The stadium can hold 1,000 fans with room to add 1,000 more seats if needed.

Lighted, enclosed batting cages and bullpens are available for each team and a tree-lined concourse graces the path between the new stadium and baseball's Tony Gwynn Stadium. Concessions and restrooms are shared with Tony Gwynn Stadium.

In its first year, SDSU moved from the first base dugout, where it used to play at SDSU Field, into the third base dugout at the new facility.

John and Becky Moores, owners of the San Diego Padres, donated approximately $6.5 million for the combined facility.

Playing every home game at SDSU Softball Stadium in 2006 for the first time, SDSU finished 20-6 at home.

Since its first home game at SDSU Softball Stadium on Feb. 17, 2005, San Diego State is 322-152 (.679) and 132-64 (.673) in conference games.

The best possible address to put in your navigation system is 5200 55th Street, San Diego, CA 92182. This will lead you to parking structure 7. Be sure to get a parking pass through the “pay by phone” app. You will need to enter your license plate so have it handy when you are entering your information.

Drop off:

Enter the address, 5375 Remington Road, San Diego, CA. This will lead you to a turn around behind home plate in front of the Aztec Aquaplex.

If you are coming from:

Los Angeles
take I-5 South to 805 South to I-8 East.

Riverside
take I-15 South to I-8 East.

Yuma
take I-8 West.

Mexico
take 805 North to I-8 East.

From I-8, take the College Avenue exit and go south. Turn right at Montezuma (second stop light at the top of the hill). Go to the second stop light (55th Street) and turn right. Make an immediate left at the first stop light into the parking structure. Parking fees will apply.   For entrance to the stadium, go down to the bottom floor and walk out of the north side. From there, you will see the softball stadium just west of Tony Gwynn Stadium. Follow the path along the playing fields to the ticket office.

Persons with disabled placards/ license plates should proceed directly to parking lots surrounding Tony Gwynn Stadium, along 55th Street & Remington Road. Your placard/ disabled license plate is valid in any marked parking stall.
